Mayor Lee Leffingwell takes a 'day off'

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell decided to take a "day off" and recreate a scene from one of his favorite movies to promote the opening of his new campaign office.

In the two-minute clip, Leffingwell recreates the iconic scene from the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

According to Mark Littlefield, Leffingwell's campaign spokesman, the video was shot during the past week. All the scenes featuring Leffingwell were shot in his house.

While the video showcases Leffingwell's acting chops, former Austin Mayor Will Wynn and current Council member Chris Reilly also made cameo appearances.

The full video can be found here.

Leffingwell's new campaign office is at 2406 Manor Road.
